I'm beginning to lose hope. Thus is how people elect United States Senators. They take more care hiring a gardener.

In Georgia, Could a Football Win Help Walker Win as Well?
In a neck-and-neck Senate race, Herschel Walkers supporters are hoping a big win by the Georgia Bulldogs just before Election Day could help him as well.
And the Georgia Bulldogs arent hurting his cause, either. Even serious political analysts acknowledge that the Bulldogs strong season they are undefeated in the powerful S.E.C. so far may be helping Mr. Walker in his Senate race against Senator Raphael Warnock, by lifting spirits and stirring up nostalgia just in time for the most famous Bulldog ever to ask for votes.
The connection was undeniable on Saturday, when Mr. Walker was the biggest star not in uniform on the day of the biggest college football game of the year, where Georgia beat the University of Tennessee, 27-13.

(102,300 posts)I didn't get many "answers," left tons of voicemails, but I did get one person who was interested in engaging. He asked me where I was calling from and why GA, given I'm in Colorado. That opened the gates. When he found that one of my post-graduate degrees came from UGA, he point-blank asked me (after being shocked that I was no fan of Hershel Walker in the Senate race, though once a big fan): "if I could only have one of two things happen, 1. UGA win against TN Saturday, all but ensuring their probable inclusion in the National Football Playoffs or 2. Herschel Walker loses (badly) to Warnock."
My immediate answer: "sorry Dawgs!" He laughed himself silly, but then said, "alright," I guess you've given me something to think about.
So now UGA Dawgs decisively won. What does that mean for those among us who are superstitious?
