I live in a pretty blue area

I’ve been in the hospital a lot this summer and am currently in a nursing home for the next couple weeks. I really don’t think my vote will be that important but you never really know. I had a friend go by my house last night to get my ballot. Ii live in a mail in state and although I think most of the important elections will go blue I want to make sure my voice is heard. Especially when the rethugs lose and start complaining the election is rigged (in the disstriicts they lose). I hope that strategy really blows up in their faces. So anyways what I am saying is every vote counts. GOTV!

There are no real competitions. Maura Healy will be our next governor.

But I will gladly vote anyway! In person, because I like to go to the polls. It seems more "real" than tossing a ballot in a box (although I did that during the worst of the pandemic).

I am hopeful about Tuesday's country-wide elections.

We only had one race on the ballot (VA-8), so it only took me a minute to vote. I spent more time looking at the ballot (both sides, since they told me to) than actually filling in the space for Don Beyer.

I'm very concerned about Tuesday, especially for the Senate. If they take that, the rest of us are royally screwed. If you haven't voted, please do. Encourage your family/friends to vote too, even if they don't think it'll matter. Turnout matters.

Dropping my true blue ballot into a bluebox in an area so blue that vehicles with Trump stickers passing through start to smoke, sputter and backfire. (True Story! Stood out like a sore thumb in downtown Palm Springs)
But my gig there ended unexpectedly and it's likely if my health holds out till 2024 election my ballot will nicely compliment the surrounding red.
Probably be a snowbird, full time RV'er. I have some expensive hoops to jump thanks to Louis DeJoy's USPS efforts to disenfranchise roadies. I ran into so many problems like that all at once I'll admit I got close to suicidal. It was the profound generosity of fellow democrats right here caught me from the worst.
Anyway, I'm heading for deep, deep red Arizona for a gig now thanks to all that. Funny part is it pays more than I was making in expensive Palm Springs.

Its pretty blue here, but there are a lot of local issues that need be voted on, especially the amendment about Dialysis Centers, with Republicans wanting to shut them down, which would cause meaningly deaths, just as the Trump
Administration allowed covid deaths to ride to over a million deaths.

There was one old guy about eight blocks away who had a big ole flagpole with an American flag flapping away, purple heart license plates on his car, and GOP yard signs. The latter disappeared during Katrina. I figure the guy is a career military vet who absorbed all the hogwash the military pushes out but even he knew incompetence when he saw it.

I don't doubt he's still voting GOP in some races. He just won't advertise the fact any more. There's no intimidation, that's not how NM rolls, but I sense a certain amount of disgust.

..hate filled propganda racist tropes as their strategy to bring out maga voters..frankly it's sickening to hear to blasted on media 24/7 should be a reprieve say weekend before election..all ads stop for fucks sake! Their strategy of hate, fear mongering is exhausting..everywhere you turn..there they are: TV, social media, radio- fucking everywhere!

That's it that's their strategy? Hate the other..hate nonchristians, hate people of color, hate non Christians. Honestly people [Rs] really want to side with the party of hate..just unbelievably disheartening! I felt that way after H.Clinton lost to odious fascist sexual predator y racist--disheartened. Had to turn off all tv programming..maybe clean toilets .more productive use of my time.
Sometime after racist culero was elected and his continued barrage of racist, bigoted dog whistles and inciting violence rhetoric, a young Black woman reporter.. .said that to her it felt not only emotionally assaulted with the onslaught of hate, bigoted, racist attacks not only from the usual RW hate radio.programmung but coming out of the WH admin ...that she was not only emotionally assaulted but physically assaulted as well..a beating if you will. I felt that too!

Sabes you know It's exhausting..which is the point I suppose to suppress your voice, your vote. It is truly sad R voters mostly caucasian-Americans , to allow that to happen to fellow Americans imo feels traitorous. Was how I felt when H.Clinton lost .that people who I thought were good faith fellow citizens..colleagues, neighbors and even family members who voted for Obama two terms ..turned their backs on the progress we had made over decades..just threw it all away for that piece of shit# racist, bigoted criminal and look look where it got us..J6 and this guy is still out there inciting violence..cheering it on.

Anyway. .thank you for post ..sorry I went on a rant..wanted to add even though I'm in a blue state down ticket local elections are critical. God speed on your getting better. After Tuesday election..I'm wanting to head to some tropical island..somewhere sandy beaches, palm trees 🌴 ocean waves 🌊 and margaritas celebration 🍷 🥂 for our holding the line on democracy. Well wishes my friend..get well soon. Keep us posted. ( note : have to take break, little puppy needs to go outside lol; will edit on return.).

Your vote absolutely matters, even in blue areas. Our local board of education is overrun by right wing nutbags.

I live in an purple area of Orange County, California. My representative is the brilliant Katie Porter. She is in the fight of her life to keep her House seat, because the scumbag anti-choice election denier running against her has tens of millions in pac dark money supporting him. His pac has been flooding the airwaves with ads bashing her with lies. Cook Political Report downgraded the race from Leans Democratic" to "Toss Up," with Katie dropping 8 points since mid-October, when her opponent's pac started running those ads. It is sickening.

I made sure everyone in my house voted, I donated, and I knocked on doors in my district for Katie Porter. I hope it's enough. She doesn't take corporate pac money.

How central the theft issue was, though I thought it was ice cream in the movie. The part I really remember was when capt Queeg was testifying and he seemed to start to realize during his rant that he was off base going on crazy. Great acting by Bogie.
