(7,522 posts)I think she was the first to do it and got a lot of traction. She's still posting, however, meaning banning Griffin was arbitrary.

(100,082 posts)So yeah as a moderator on other forums I belong to, he was well within his right to ban Kathy Griffin. Do I agree with his decision? No, because it was most likely a political hit job. But as a moderator, it was the correct one.

FU, Elon, you're just another snowflake pissant.
It's fun watching your $40 billion smackers go up in smoke. That's a LOT of smoke.
Toodles!

Sympthsical
(9,076 posts)I mean *general hand wave in any direction* Here everyone's been all week.
I'm in the middle of writing a paper on Generalized Anxiety Disorder at the moment and basically nose deep in the DSM-5 and considering using the Twitter obsession on social media right now on my works cited page.
I could write a paper about this. Or I could just go online and watch people right now and just copy and paste the entire obsessive mess.
I feel like it would be just as compelling an effort.

(32,712 posts)Rethugs are obsessed because they're trying to remain relevant and they desperately want to share their views in a place where we are forced to see it.
In my opinion, Liberals are more detached and less emotionally involved I would say. We already know we're moving on from Twitter. It's just a matter of where to. Twitter is the temporary holding ground while the replacement is being situated. Meanwhile, the shitshow / death spiral of the platform is interesting/funny to observe. Lol.
Sympthsical
(9,076 posts)Demonstrably. It has been nothing less than a long, salty meltdown from the instant Musk took over. We're a day out from one of the most important midterms in modern history, and it has been nonstop Twitter obsession for nearly two weeks now. People don't wildly prioritize in this manner unless they're excessively invested.
There is no detachment involved. It is highly emotional, breathless, and manic, with each rumor, bit of gossip, and conspiracy theory instantly disseminated, pored over, and obsessed about.
C'mon. That assertion is completely bizarro world given objective evidence. Some self-awareness should come into play in all this.

(52,261 posts)New movie to clearly identify speakers during famous "roll call" scene.
"That scene where they go around and they all call themselves Spartacus, it's confusing trying to figure out who's speaking. The ethical thing to do is to just use your own name, so the in the new version, each speaker will announce their own name instead of just repeating Spartacus"

I am tempted to join twitter, just so I can impersonate Elon, but that would be giving him content and numbers, so no.
