Has the deluge of Panic Text Messages and Emails Incentivized you to Contribute More or Less?

And what has been your reaction to those messages, intellectually or emotionally?

It is what it is. It doesn't bother me.

I’m getting them from all over the country, offices I’ve never donated to and can’t vote for. It’s been crazy.

"Demanding money with menaces".

I sometimes get 20 per day.

I gave. I voted. It's not my fault if others choose to screw up all of our futures by not voting or voting for their enemies.

My complaint is that it's tone deaf to assume $35 is a small amount to give. Why even put a dollar amount on a donation request? Why not just write "any amount no matter how small helps."

This approach must work or they wouldn't do it but I find them annoying, demoralizing and disincentivizing. I have unsubscribed to the worst of them, those from an organization called End Citizens United. AFAIK this is a legit outfit but their email outreach seems really amateurish - lots of all-caps gnashing of teeth and rending of garments and implicitly blaming me, personally, for the collapse of civilization if I don't send money. At least they don't trick you into sending regular contributions like TFG's campaign, but otherwise they seem to be using the same playbook.

and in particular, that group with all caps, insinuating support for Trump or a GQP candidate or their agenda is galling to me.

In my text response STOP doesn't seem to work the first time, it has to be done repeatedly.

I finally report as spam which blocks, but still they come in from other numbers.

I get texts from Beto and sometimes they're for events when he's gonna be in my town. Other times, they're for fundraising etc. I often miss the events because I'm ignoring the fundraising. I don't reply "stop" or anything, but I do tend to ignore them.

I give when I feel it’s necessary to give and I choose who I want to give to.

I delete the texts and move on. I've donated to a couple Dem candidates (Fetterman got my biggest donation) based on my own desire, view and where I think the money was best used. I had thought of donating to candidates outside of PA, but stuck with in-state only.

partly for economic reasons, but mostly because of this.

I gave what I could, then they try to squeeze me for more. They sell my info, and the emails multiply like rabbits.

I get emails and texts from "Nancy Pelosi" sobbing and saying she's giving up. That's nothing like Nancy! She's a bad ass. She doesn't wail and give up. Why does our party do this?
