Val Demings just hit Marco Rubio where it hurts most during final hours of U.S. Senate campaign

Rep. Val Demings is in the final home stretch of her campaign to unseat Sen. Marco Rubio in Florida and she’s putting up one hell of a fight all the way to the bitter end.

Yesterday, the congresswoman took to Twitter to blast Rubio for his lack of leadership when it comes to gun violence after the 2016 mass shooting at Pulse, the gay nightclub in Orlando, where 49 people were killed and 53 more were wounded by gunman Omar Mateen.

“Shame on Marco Rubio for using the Pulse Nightclub shooting as an excuse to run for re-election after his failed presidential run, and then do nothing about gun violence,” she tweeted.

In 2016, after pledging he would not run for re-election, Rubio said he changed his mind after the Pulse massacre.

The simple truth is there was 70 million in Russian money at the NRA and needed to put it to use. Ford_Prefect Nov 2022 #4

would Paul Ryan encourage Rubio, the crown prince, to be in close association with the wreck that is Trump? And then quit himself? Maybe he has future ambitions himself. You never know.

against Trump and was let down. Not let down enough to run on anti gun message and then do bupkiss. Paul Ryan convinced him to run again and not vote on legislation that might hurt him with Democrats in a future Presidential election.

They wanted a candidate who could stand in front of that money and I have no doubt Ryan knew about it. There was an enormous amount of Dark Money spent to get a Congress and Senate that would do whatever Trump wanted. Rubio wanted a slice of the action. Ryan told him where to find it and probably hooked him up with some of that cash or at least the people who were spreading it around.

Some kind of role in the Biden administration, not many options in FL, maybe run for Governor in 2026.
