Powerball Fairy visits Altadena, CA... (Pasadena-ish)

Within 50 miles of me...

Hope they enjoy it and make a lot of people happy including the blue collar people making their cars, homes... serving them at restaurants, bringing their drinks on planes and importing their Italian purses and Swiss watches.

In all probability they'll probably take the $600M, bury 500m into a Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Mgmt account and live off the returns... a perfect example how the wealthy hoard their assets to produce income.

"Howard and Bernadette now live at the house he grew up in, somewhere in the hills of Altadena, an unincorporated town due north of Pasadena."

All those magnificent Pre-WW2 houses on beautiful Magnolia lined streets...

LOVE it.

The only place I've been in California is the San Francisco airport. Maybe one of these days!

Altadena looks a lot like towns in decades of TV sitcoms and family movies set in Southern CA. It can double for a lot of generic middle class towns. See the photo and comment from another DUer about how it looks and feels Midwestern -- just a bit more sanitized

Altadena/Pasadena is one of my favorite places, people, architecture, etc. Very diverse area. Hope they put that pile of dough to good use.
