It definitely is looking good there thus far, probably better than I was expecting at this point.

I wish NYT still had their needle, haha.

Heavy ex military presence there. If Budd can't at least get it close in New Hanover, Cumberland (Fayetteville), Chatham County (Pittsboro - Raleigh Durham exburb), he's in trouble. He's barely squeaking it out in Alamance County. All are routinely purple.

Even if the House goes to Republicans.

Because House seats have been very effectively gerrymandered.

And I guarantee they voted blue. NC is changing. Like VA, it gets bluer every year.

Haven’t come in. I agree with you, he’s in trouble.

But if they have, it’s hard to tell

the last 2 weekends canvassing in her blood-red county, bless her. She and her canvass mate did this in her car with a Biden/Harris bumper sticker still on it. That takes courage.

Anyway, the highlight was last weekend canvassing a Brazilian who was busy celebrating Lula’s win. The most unnerving point was going up a long narrow mountain road to a home in a clearing to be met by a group of young men on bikes, one holding a gun. They said the person they were looking for didn’t live there, or wasn’t there, and my friend reported she turned quickly and head back down the mountain. The guys immediately got on their bikes, with guns, and followed them, okay ‘escorted’ them, down the road.

She drove conservatively down but reported an extra press of the gas petal once in the clear!

Go Beasley!

Wonderful place to live until Trump. It's a whole different world on and off "the mountain."

I lived in Charlotte for ten years. The state was fairly purple back then, but that was the 80's. I would love to retire there but the politics seemed to be regressing not progressing and that made me leery of living there.

I so want to be proud of NC once again. It is such a beautiful state.

Unfortunately, with 62 percent counted the AP is reporting Budd as slightly ahead.
