I'm curious about other people's experiences..
I waited about an hour to vote in Toledo Ohio. Hopefully Tim Ryan is our next senator.
How 'bout you?

(53 posts)But I did hear other people saying that it wasn't nearly as busy two years ago.

(47,280 posts)In central OH. I also didn't vote there in the 2020 election (voted by mail then).
So I have nothing to compare it to.

About 2pm today.
Good line moved well
20 min.
Edit to add one of the workers said it took about an hour to clear through those lined up before open this morning.

(12,011 posts)I voted early on Sunday in New York, and it looked like there was a long line, but it moved really fast. I think the longest I have ever waited to vote since moving to New York was 15 minutes in 2012. I believe there is a state law capping the number of voters per polling place, so long lines are rare. Early voting is somewhat new here, and Sunday was the first time I utilized it. I never saw a reason to vote early given how long the polls are open here on Election Day (6 a.m. to 9 p.m.), until this past August when I got COVID and had to skip voting in the primary.
New York politics is not without its problems, but this state does voting pretty well, at least in my experience both in the city and now in Nassau.

(53 posts)Hopefully they add more stations at my precinct next year. I say people should have to wait 15 mins max.

(7,140 posts)I lived South of Atlanta at the time. I waited 6 hrs early voting. On election day people in line by 7pm were out in a cold rain still at 3am. They finally cleared the last voter at 5am.
In the meantime affluent Cobb was in and out in under 30 min all day.
Vote suppression at it's finest.

(17,311 posts)There were plenty of poll workers, at least. The only race was the open House seat, and it is a foregone conclusion. The rest of the people were running in nonpartisan judicial offices. Most of them were unopposed. There was one I wanted to see win because of her community involvement. I couldve sat this one out.

(37,336 posts)I was in the boiler room watching the line lengths across the state (as reported by our observers). Most places in Ohio were 0-30 minutes at all but a couple peak times in a couple of precincts.
I waited 0 minutes, since I voted a week or two ago while I was doing a shift as an early voting observer. I was there all day - and just waited for a time when there was no line to vote.

(151 posts)Half a dozen people voting, (paper ballot), in Lawrence, Ks. They've been using iPads to scan the back of the driver's license, and then you get to sign on the Pad. This year they had the combo stylus and pen, which one got to keep.
State Representative is about the only one I can be sure will go to the Democrat. Town tends to be a blue oasis (the old part of town, at least.)

(1,115 posts)But it was crowded in the actual voting room. Hard to find a space. And there were MANY spaces. I've never seen so many booths in that room in nearly 30 years of voting in the exact same place. When I was leaving, the line looked to have 40-50 people in it. I don't think I have seen it that busy since I started being able to vote during the day instead of before or after work (~6 years).

(5,572 posts)there were ~ 10 election workers to one voter, me. I threw up my arms, and exclaimed you have a customer! The longest Ive ever waited to vote is about 5 min, and I vote in every election, almost exclusively on election day. We were due for rain here on the CA central coast and I wanted to walk to the poll so went yesterday. We have tons of polling places.
Voted about 9 AM and at 10:30 AM got an email from the state telling me I had voted in person and that my vote had been recorded. This was after getting a heads-up they had sent my ballot, then another saying they hadnt gotten it back yet, etc.
It should be this easy to vote for everyone, everywhere.
