is again breaking a supposed unbreakable election "precedent" of never electing a same-party governor in consecutive elections when the previous governor was term-limited.

Tom Wolf (D) had already broken a "precedent" (in quotes) in 2017/2018 by defeating Tom Corbett (R) after Corbett only had one term, and then Wolf won a 2nd term after that.

So assuming Shapiro holds as the winner, he breaks the other "precedent" (in quotes) by being from the same party as the previous (term-limited) governor. I.e., we always alternated parties after each served 2 terms, but no more after tonight.
