It will take days — or even weeks — to learn which party will be in control of the House and Senate next year.
In the Senate, we’re waiting on Nevada and Arizona. Alaska will be longer due to ranked-choice voting. Georgia is going to a December 6 runoff.
In the House, there are still more than 30 races undecided. Most are in California, with some in Arizona, Nevada and New York.
Here are a few more observations while we wait:
* According to KPNX-TV, there are a little more 400,000 ballots left to count in Maricopa County, Arizona. The next update will be between 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET tonight.
* Jon Ralston, who knows more about Nevada politics than anyone, seems to think Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) will soon take the lead.
* Even if Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) goes into the December runoff with 50 Democratic seats locked in, the 51st seat is still crucial because it would give Democrats subpoena power.
* The real red wave is when every Rupert Murdoch-owned media property turns on Donald Trump.
* Or it might be all the ketchup on the walls at Mar-a-Lago.
* Greenwich, Connecticut, of all places, is now deep blue.
* Democrats appear to have held every House seat in New England.
* Rep. Lauren Boehbert (R-CO), who is trailing in her re-election race, finally broke her silence.
* Alex Jones and Roger Stone say that a lot of Republicans didn’t bother voting because they think all elections are rigged. Irony is dead.
* Elon Musk really screwed up.
* A reader on vacation tells me Political Wire has been blocked in Egypt.
