I loathe DeSantis, but

But.

But, his completely ignoring all of Trump's frantic attacks over the past 4 days has been possibly the most brutal political assassination I've ever seen in my life. His spox actually said "who?" when asked about Trump. Ice cold and brutal.

I will work fervently to keep DeSantis out of national office, but I really believe he has finally done what Republicans and Democrats before him failed to do, and killed Trump's political career.

We lost ground in the election. We did not win a great victory but thankfully we staved off a great defeat.

The Trump energy seems to be fading, and it is probably because the amount of energy to keep supporting the clown has become a drag on even the most ardent Trump supporters and is unsustainable in the long run. I think that is visible in his shrinking crowd sizes. That said, as much as we hate to believe it, Trump is still one of the most powerful Americans alive today. He needs to be swept from the political team for his crimes against the nation. Trump needs to be removed from participation in American politics because of his criminal behavior, and only the Justice system can do it. Or, perhaps, for hidden reasons, the Justice system can't do it.... Unless and until the long arm of the law slaps Trump down he will still be a power to be reckoned with.

"He who defends all, defends nothing."We can deal with DeSantis when the Trump battle is over. Lets try to avoid war on two fronts at the same time. DeSantis does not have Trump's mojo. Old Ron is rotten to the core, but he is an evil technocrat, not a people person; there is nothing about DeSantis to love. Rotten Ron presents himself as an elitist and because of that he will not appeal to the emotional far right, and because of that he is vulnerable. It is hard for a car mechanic to identify with a fellow who parked his car in the Harvard yard.

If Trump eludes justice then there will be a battle to the death for the rotten soul of the Republican Party. It would be good for Democracy if Trump and DeSantis destroy each other in a battle of knives and chains. In effect that gives us two chances of extending the Democratic process; jail Trump, or let the demonic duo self-destruct. Things are looking up.

We have survived the current battle, but the war goes on.

I thought his policies are so right wing that he has no chance. But his success in FL and his staged pictures might be attractive enough for the independent voters. Just look at all the shots when news shows gets to them. They are so staged but it looks really different than others. I am afraid he will be talked up by the media to be another "Bush" that you can have a beer type.

Guv. Man Bewbs and to a lesser extent Lil Sip of Water benefited from the migration of MAGAt cultists from other states where the 1.5 million transplants were overwhelmingly conservative as evidenced by the number of registrants skewing Republicant. On the other hand, siphoning off these brainwashed inbreds from other states is a positive for Democrats as seen on Tuesday.

What works locally at the state level does not work nationally.

pushing out more right-wing bills, as opposed to a more moderate Congress.

DeSantis is going to have to defend his right-wing record as governor on the national stage. DeSantis would have to defend his "woke" rhetoric. He would have to defend his "woke" bill. He would have to defend his abortion ban. He would have to defend his right-wing social media bill. He would possibly have to defend bills that have been stuck down for violating the 1st amendment.

The rest of it will be brutally fascist, or he will try to make it look that way. His poll watching police were not in evidence during early voting whatsoever and I heard no issues with them during election day either. Maybe there weren't enough Dem voters to trigger them, sadly.

Death Sentence is vulnerable, but was not attacked sufficiently by Dems. They ignored his Medicare/SS treachery which would have buried him in this state.
