No one at work is getting alerts even though we are under a tornado warning
This NWS website has way too much info and I dont see a link to get alerts.

Here are some reviews. I can't vouch for his opinions.

(57,639 posts)It's got so many adjustments, I hardly know how to turn it on.
It was marketed under a variety of names. Such as:
https://www.amazon.com/American-Emergency-Preparedness-Technology-ARCFR370WXR/dp/B007KFXHFS
The FR370 can be set to alert or ignore alerts, as you see fit.
https://www.manua.ls/eton/fr370/manual
Maybe what you're listening to has not been programmed to alert you to tornado warnings.
That rain is coming up I-95. I was pondering getting in some shopping, but WTOP says some bad stuff is on the way.
Looks as if you've seen the worst of it.

(57,639 posts)How they got such a small radio to do so much, I'll never know.

Yeah, $100, sure. There's also one on eBay priced at $300.
Try fifty cents at a church rummage sale. For fifty cents, you don't get alerts.

The Kaito KA500 looks interesting. It's bulky, but it has a lot of power options.

(32,095 posts)Many, if not all local TV stations have weather app, or at least the weather is part of their news app. I'm sure many of the bigger radio stations have them, as well, especially if you're in or near a big city.

(57,073 posts)Can put ant city or town in the location & get alerts on several levels as well as, from what I've experienced, highly accurate hourly forecasts & 10-day daily outlooks.

It's a really great app had alerts are always on target.

(57,639 posts)What inspired WGN to do that, I wonder.
Is this for the Chicago area only?

(57,073 posts)Could be because their chief meteorologist, Tom Skilling, is truly exceptional. He's a real weather nut. Lol
It's a great app though & it is consistent with accurate predictions, down to the hour.
For example, I can look at hourly to quickly learn when light (moderate or heavy) rain will start or stop. Same with storms & winter weather.
1st time alert went off, it was middle of night & I was zzzd out. Man's voice, really loud, saying whatever the alert was. Scared the hell out of me.
Anyway give it a try. Let me know what you think?
