No "Red Wave" b/c Republicans shot their wad too soon.

1. The Dobbs decision. Eventuality of a federal statute banning abortion and subsequent SCOTUS decision that would legitimize that legislation.

2. McCarthy and friends shooting off their mouths about how they were going to sunset Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

3. Permanent tax cuts for the rich.

4. An era of one-party rule. Not Democrats. Not Republicans. Donald Trumpers.

If the leaders had restrained their hubris and said nothing, they could have had their majorities via deception and then gone ahead with their wishlist. They don't care if they're called hypocrites. They'd be in charge -- indefinitely.

We dodged a big one.

History was against us. Certain heavily gerrymandered states (Florida) made gains impossible. Biden has been hammered over inflation that he didn't cause. The fact that we didn't have a repeat of 94 or 2010 was nothing short of amazing.

Roosevelt in 34...the depression and Bush II because of the war in Afghanistan. We are still in the hunt for the house too...and if the GOP wins the house it will be by a tiny amount. We basically accomplished a miracle in this divided country. And Roe won everywhere...even in Kentucky. Honestly, when I hear this (and I am not singling you out), I just think some people are never happy.

for my own sanity and mental well-being, I truly appreciate the positive spin.

That said... I hope that karma is swift and cruel for the individuals who decided to vote red, especially in states that have total abortion bans (or the BS "heartbeat" bans). I'm pretty sure that kkkemp is about to pivot hard right, and the 6 week ban will become a total ban in Georgia as well. All of this was foreseeable, but idiots will be idiots. I will not waste one drop of compassion on the MFs who enabled gop fascists by either not voting or voting red. Not one drop. I will literally pull up their voter profile first before I decide how to feel. Lol. Ok... Back to positive thoughts. 😌

but their media has became their own enemy. Fox et al were great at foisting on to and forcing the regular media to air their themes. Florida Florida Florida in 2000 is a perfect example. Now however to be relevant their people have to say the same things or they don’t get on tv. This includes tweets that become news. It’s no longer themes but a wild array of god knows what AND they internally have to keep out outraging each other. That’s fine in their little world but it doesn’t play to the unindoctrinated and frankly it is received as weird.

has them spouting off to a rapidly dwindling audience. Every time the sun comes up, about 8,000 fewer Americans who were born before 1965 are still around around. And Millennials and Gen Z ain't buying what they're selling.

believe anything they say or do anyways? IMHO, I will never ever trust a republican again. And most importantly, everything they say or do or represent is against a great many of my beliefs, help the poor, love thy neighbors, etc., common things that a great deal of us believe in, that is, the true Christian Spirit that went missing in action when the tRUMP scourge was upon us.

They've lied to us big time already, rushed in and confirmed their Supreme Court pick regardless of the negative evidence at hand (I'll have a beer Kavanaugh), Alito (never overturning Roe vs. Wade, a lie), Clarence Thomas and his meddling wife (partisan as hell) that would disqualify democratic candidates when the slot was available, and ignored their own rule against confirming a new Supreme Court Justice (Barrett) during an election cycle

After Roe was overturned they went full draconian in some states. Most Republicans didn’t even want that.

Promising endless investigations into trivial matters, sunsetting SS and Medicare didn’t play well.

Investigations and abortion bans won’t fix the economy.

And in fat, it's exactly what their base wanted. Problem for them is that their base is shrinking. Those *were* their plans - to show they were able to get the GQP agenda done despite the pesky liberals. Do not underestimate their cruelty nor their stupidity.

It's been like something out of a horror movie. States rights for this but not for that. I pray that we can increase the seats or Clarence resigns. This is horrible to say, but we need dirt on alito. This is war. And since no one is in a rush to increase the judge count, we have to replace justices who are already there.

Bad, rude, and childish. But gloating when the contest hasn't even happened yet is all that AND ridiculous.

That's what Republicans did; they were so sure of their victory that they committed the sin of anticipatory gloating. And now they look like the world's biggest fools!
