Can you spare a few bucks to help Rebekah Jones - Florida Candidate?

Ran against that wretch Gaetz? She has tried to do the right thing for Florida in many ways, and has been punished for it. I know we are all tapped out, but if you can spare a few bucks... I look at it as a satisfying kick at DeSatan!

I scraped up a few dollars for her because I admire her bravery in standing up to Desantis. MLAA Nov 2022 #1

On my Act Blue account.

Say, I got an email yesterday asking for money for Jacky Rosen. Is this a pressing immediate need? Act Blue says she is running for Senate in 2024.

I admire her so much! We must look into Jacky Rosen. I haven't heard of her. Still need a few days of drinking to recover from midterms. Must admit, though, there is a lot to be said for watching reruns if Bewitched instead of election returns...

Unless money is needed for something like a recount with helping ensure we have enough help, why would a candidate ask for money after losing?

I guess that's enough for me...

I always felt that running as a dem here is a losing proposition but I am grateful someone does it.

The repugs have had years to game the system and I have no idea what we can do to correct it...

Not so much on why she was fired though. A damn shame, because she's an extremely bright young woman with a fantastic education. Still, I might donate when I get back from vacation because that's just how I am.

I’d be glad to help, but with a check, not an online contribution.

I have to wonder how many millions or tens of millions went into the pockets of the credit card companies and Act Blue instead of to candidates that could have made good use of the difference?

Act Blue is said to have raised $5 billion for Democratic candidates in the last election cycle. If that is true, then they pocketed $200 million in the process (their fee is 3.95%, or it used to be a few years ago). Did they give any of that back? Would an extra $5 million have made the difference to Cheri Beasley? Steve Sisolak? Mandela Barnes?

ALL candidates seeking money should give their contributors at least the OPTION of contributing by check. If Act Blue remains a contributor’s choice after the options are known, then so be it.

I don't think this fundraiser went through actblue but it does feel good to know what the recipient will get...

people pump hundreds of millions into unwinnable races simply due to the opponents being famous motherfucking bellends that they hate, whilst more obscure yet far more winnable races get drowned in RW dark money attacks and lack the funding to return the fire and also defend effectively.

Examples:

Empty G

McTurtle 2020

Gaetz

Graham 2020

Beto v Abbott

Cornyn 2020

Crist v DeathSentence

Rand Paul 2022

etc etc

It is one of the few things I completely agree with Brooklynite on.

The criminals have been in charge long enough that it's locked up here. At least for now. Have no idea how it can be rectified.

It's too bad we can't rein this campaign finance crap in. Lots of money wasted to torment the populace with lousy ads.

Rebekah Jones was personal to me I guess. Going to her house with guns at 8:30 am. her kids there...
