"It's an unworkable majority. Nothing meaningful will get passed" - aide to senior House Republican.

House Republicans need to net only five seats to win back the majority, a seemingly easy goal that has proved surprisingly difficult. The National Republican Congressional Committee, which initially had projected winning as many as 30 seats, now sees their majority between 220 and 224 seats, according to three people familiar with the organization’s internal data. That sliver of control would hand GOP leaders what many see as the impossible task of corralling far-right-wing demands while balancing them with the desires of more moderate members.

Somewhere between 220 and 224 seats? You mean like 221/2 seats for example? Who could possibly get mountains of meaningful legislation through on those numbers? The.Best.Ever Speaker of the House?

...Speaker that Pelosi has been.

The Republicans will be a complete and utter shit show if they only get 218-220 seats. Rather than simply writing off the fringiest of the fringe or the most moderate of the moderates, they will have to essentially appeal to BOTH in order to accomplish anything. And that's going to be literally impossible for them.

Hell, it's probably going to be fireworks to even determine who gets to be their Speaker (assuming they do win a majority) at this point. At 218-220 seats, all it takes is a couple of their loons "going into business for themselves" so to speak and they can't get to 218.

But they probably want to pass things anyway to let the country know their priorities.

So I propose a national ban on kids using litter boxes in public schools.

I think that would be a fitting legacy for their little majority.

Now what?

Create a legislative plan or run more Benghazi-style bogus investigations?

I doubt they have a coherent body to formulate policy wins. But investigations...that's easy!

They will spend the next 2 years on investigations....and wonder why the American people end up thinking less of the Republican Party then, than they do now.

Take a page out of Harry Truman's 1948 campaign. The campaign ads will write themselves.
