Shorter voting window could cut turnout in Georgia runoff

https://apnews.com/article/2022-midterm-elections-georgia-93f3ee7ff34e5d6aa2bd96d048832a8e

Snip: Georgia requires a runoff if a candidate doesn’t win a majority in the party primary or in the general election. Neither Warnock nor Republican Herschel Walker got to 50%.

Under Georgia’s 2021 election law, there will be only four weeks before the runoff — with Thanksgiving in the middle. Many Georgians will be offered only five weekdays of early in-person voting beginning Nov. 28. And June’s primary runoffs showed time for mail ballots to be received and returned can be very tight.

There should be a concerted effort to do just that.

Every call to a voter should state all the official data to get Souls to the Polls!

I phone banked in the previous runoff with a group out in California. It is a zoom setup and there is a short training session at the beginning. Folks were on there from all over the country. I have already contacted the leader that I am ready to roll.

Contact: sylviaurussell@gmail.com and tell her you want to participate.

I have 40 names for postcards, just waiting for my postcards to get here. (Ran out during our election! Worth it, my precinct was 100% blue)

Activate America for postcard lists anna@activateamerica.vote

One of my friends has a third one but I can't find it right now.

Nearly everyone in GA knows it's Walker vs. Warnock, and neither got 50%. We'll do fine.
