Friend visited her SOLIDLY REICH-wing Republican father who lives outside of Atlanta this weekend. On her return..
Me: So how does he feel about Herschel Walker?
Her: He said he will not vote for him. Hates him. Called him an idiot.
Me: So hes going to vote for Warnock?
Her: No. He wont do that.
Me: Hes going to what? Stay home?
Her: Thats what hes going to do!
And therein lies victory!

(16 posts)Here in Georgia, I am still seeing (fewer) ads for Warnock on TV and both candidates are stumping. I do not see any TV ads from Walker or even anything by "Senate Leadership" on his behalf, though Cruz and Graham are campaigning with him. Now that 50 senate races have been called for democrats, republicans really don't have much to gain by a 50th senator. No doubt TV ads will pick up as December 6th approaches. On the other hand, Biden and democrats need Warnock to avoid being held hostage by Sinema and Manchin and to get specific legislation passed by carving out exceptions on the filibuster for issues like women's rights, voting rights, marital rights, etc. GOTV in Georgia for a 51-49 Senate!!

(754 posts)We need Warnock. It's only been a short time but as you say it seems like he's not only a decent man but is a good senator. But there's more.
There are a couple of serious turncoat risks among the Democratic ranks. Everyone probably has a good idea who they might be. Remember what happened in the other direction in 2000. One more senator makes another play like that far harder.

Republicans didn't like voting for Walker, they know he's a moron, but with the Senate on the line, it was worth it for them. Without the Senate on the line, they're staying home.
