And this will certainly not be agreeable to everyone but

Russia needs to be disbanded as a country. They have never been of any positive influence at any time in their country's history. They need to get rid of you-know-who and give it up. Something like going into receivership or something, they can't govern themselves democratically or by autocracy without becoming a threat to everyone else on the planet.

There is no time nor resources available to be nice about it anymore, the whole world will suffer from the incredible pollution from the war and from the slowing of any effort to mitigate the damage to the biosphere that might deter extinction for a spell. I'm not very hopeful about our species getting it together in time, but for the sake of being hopeful...
