Some people suggest Garland will not indict the coup plotters because of political reasons.

When it comes to politics, if Garland does not indict the coup plotters it will politically harm Biden for this reason. The American people know crimes were committed. They know the coup plotters are guilty. They know there is overwhelming smoking gun evidence.

Biden picked Garland and he would be blamed if Garland let the coup plotters walk away free. It would be a disaster for Biden. Can you imagine Biden trying to explain why his AG let the coup plotters walk away free? Good fucking luck.

I am not worried about it because Garland does not play politics. Garland has already told us no one is above the law and he will follow the law without fear or favor, period.

Garland is way above my pay level and yours, friend. I do not envy his position. I'm sweating bullets about all the insurrectionists, especially the ones employed by the people of the United States: Still: The AG is not failing even though the slowness is excruciating

Stop the speculation and stop the set-up blaming Biden.

should have obtained indictments against Trump already or whether he will or won't ever obtain any indictments. Not. A. Single. DUer.

People are entitled to their opinions, but in this case, the opinions being expressed are utterly uninformed opinions. No one here knows the status of DOJ's investigations, no one here knows what evidence has been presented to a grand jury, no one here knows what additional evidence is being gathered to present to a grand jury, no one here has 1/1000th of the experience, or knowledge of the statutory and case law, and the facts as Garland and the various US Attorneys (and other DOJ attorneys) who are involved in any of the investigation, no one here has seen not only the evidence that might be used to seek an indictment, but also the evidence, testimonial and otherwise, that the defense might offer in response to an indictment.

Consider the following: indicting someone is not an end in itself and an indictment followed by an acquittal or dismissal of the charges is bad in the average case, and a disaster in a high profile case. We don't yet know whether it will be possible to obtain a conviction against the Oath Keepers. It would be insane to start a case against Trump until the outcome of that case is known. And with respect to the Mar-A-Lago documents, there is still an ongoing court process being followed and while the 11th Circuit freed DOJ to continue to use the classified documents in its investigation, DOJ isn't going to jump the gun until the current process plays out.
