can i get an amen here- props to howard dean.

i'm givin props to the man who started this-
@GovHowardDean

started the ball rolling on small change for big change. he 'radicalized' me. that bat took the primaries out of the hands of special interests & gave it to the ppl.
people powered howard.
still speaks 4 me.
can i get an amen?

rt or chime in, pls.

btw, i've met howard several times. he was a good friend of my alderman, i worked for a dean dozen candidate, and i worked w dfa. been at a few parties, have a bunch of pics somewhere.
the 50 state strategy seemed to wither on the vine, but he planted that vine. dfa training and meet ups are the model that is being used everywhere now. women used it, w emerge, emily's list. gun control groups use it, gen z is using the same model.
he deserves some props. we didnt get a wave, but we rebuilt the blue wall, damn it.

Small dollar donations? nice but it hasn't stopped the demand for big dollar contributions (from folks like me). And I'm not aware of Democratic primaries that were skewed by "special interests" (which seems to be a catch-all for "people who disagree with my opinion&quot

He did phenomenal work, and oversaw many Dem gains under his leadership. I thought he would've been a shoe-in as head of HHS during Obama's first term instead of Kathleen Sebelius.

i worked both races for christine cegelis in il-6 who went from dean dozen and the darling of the party in '04 to 'christine who?' in '06. *
she knew how to win. she knew it would take 2 cycles. she had an army of shoe leather for '06. but she didnt hit their $$ targets. so they decided to use that primary as a stepping stone for tammy duckworth. barely beat us, and went down in flames in the gen. as did the next several dems til they tweaked the district in '10.

btw, will pitt was a part of that campaign. i never got the beer he owed me after an election night wake.

*she literally got 1 phone call when tptb threw in w tammy. senator obama.

I’ve been a Howard Dean fan for a LONG time. They used to call us “Deanies.”

16. I always thought that he was a threat to somebody's "power position" in the party.

So they sabotaged him and got him sidelined. A bad, stupid move in my opinion.

And one that has cost us.

17. I also remember the lead-in for the 11:00 news talking about Howard's "mental instability."
Tue Nov 15, 2022, 03:04 PM

And they played his Yeehaw as evidence that Howard’s mental stability needed to be questioned.

This bogus, talking point got passed out to the media, and they fired it off immediately. What a bunch of shit!
