Here's the thing about television news and opinion: It's the the worst possible medium for it. They get you all agitated about something you can't do anything about, and then they try to sell you some unrelated thing. It could be the commercial following, but it could also be a war in Iraq or an orange psychopath.
There's something inherent in television that bypasses our critical thinking skills. It doesn't give us the opportunity to pause, say, "this is bullshit," and walk away.
You know how many political or pharmaceutical ads I see on television? None. You know how many times I saw Trump on television? Never. I only read about him, and mostly that's stuff posted here on DU. It got so bad "Trump" is on my hide by keyword list.
I think anyone who voted for Trump did a very stupid thing and I'm not shy telling people that.
Trump would have been a nobody without television.

DU for political stuff and Hacker News for techie stuff.
One-liners let me choose what to read and what not to,
AND I HAVE THE FIVE-LETTER STINK WORD AND THE THREE-LETTER ABBREViATION ON MY TRASH LIST.
