And give us the House back. Plus, he may destroy DeSantis the way he destroyed Chris Christie, Scott Walker, and others. As annoying as he is, he's giving us a great opportunity.

I remember when he took the lead in the Republican primaries, there were some here speculating that we’d see two terms for Hillary, followed by two terms for Michelle, then two terms for Chelsea, then two each for Malia and Sasha.

We underestimate the appeal of a totalitarian celebrity at our peril.

People now know how exhausting of an administration he ran firsthand, they didn't know that in 2016. Voters now have new information that they did not have in 2016.

I will agree that he shouldn't be underestimated though. I mean that in a sense that I wouldn't want the people that truly dislike Trump to get complacent. Many people felt pretty certain that Hillary Clinton was going to win and didn't feel the need or urgency to turnout. They may feel that about Joe Biden. That's the part we need to combt. People know that Trump is unfit for office, but people also need to remember not to get complacent.

In 2016 he was still a novelty. After he actually got into office, people do not want a repeat.

Don’t underestimate him, but 2024 won’t be 2016.

He lost both houses of congress and an election as an incumbent. Now he's proved himself an utter whining loser whose endorsements fail. Even his supporters tried to get out of his speech last night. Plus, he has killed off about a million of his supporters. He's even awakened young voters This is not 2016.

Oh and...Murdoch has said he'll support the Democrat over Trump. No support from Fox news.

COVID has killed quite a few. Others have become independent. Plus, there are lots of republicans against Trump. If his voters could get him elected, they would have done so in 2020.

But I'm also not naive enough to think Trump can't "win" again. Especially once Moore v. Harper is ruled on.

Although the constant barrage of TFG and DeSantis slugging it out will dominate every news cycle now. I don't want to hear it.

They will definitely split the party. And who else will jump into the fray? Pence? Who will moderates get behind?

I really hope Americans see Dems just going about the Nation's business, heads down, getting their jobs done. Getting good work done for the country.

I doubt TFG will ever make it to a debate stage, but President Biden will wallop either one of those guys.

Well, THAT didn't last long!

I've seen several people interviewed who supported him in 2016 who've changed horses to DeSantis now. A few even support Biden. Most of their reasons made my eyes cross, but people lie and it's really hard to admit some of the more basic reasons they voted for him in the first place.

But I don't think he'll get much of a challenge. I don't think DeSantis will want to take on an encumbant president. Odds are you aren't going to beat them. This is why strong Republicans don't challenge. Dole challenged Clinton. There was no way Dole was ever going to be elected president. And Romney challenged Obama. Again, Romney was never going to be elected president, because of his religion.

I think Trump is the exception, because he lost the popular vote by such a large margin in 2016.

Perot hurt Bush. And Iran hurt Carter.

Before that you have to go back a long time to find a defeated encumbant.
