They do not renew Tiffany Cross's contract, and then give Chris Matthews air time on Morning Joe.
I heard Matthew's spittle comments this morning about Trump's run for presidency, and disagreed with him when he said it was going to be bad for Democrats. I disagree because I think it's going to be worse for Republicans. And then he did the bothsiderism and included Joe Biden when he called him egotistical, and as an afterthought added that both men are egotistical. Then he said Biden wouldn't listen to anyone about running for president, except Jill Biden, thus Joe Biden was going to run again.
As much as Chris Matthews tried to cushion the negatives he said about Biden by following up with positive qualities, I couldn't help thinking that Chris Matthews was reciting from a playbook that is old and no longer acceptable.
Matthew had his hey-day when he gave George W. Bush the sycophant lash-batting treatment. Why is he now allowed to use his bad judgement to affect the next presidency?

The dumbest (score wise) was Wolf Blitzer and Tweety was the 2nd dumbest.
I'm still waiting for Tweety and Jonathan Capehart to apologize to Bernie Sanders for claiming he wasn't on a newspaper front page fighting for student housing. Tweety and Capehart both claimed it was someone else in the photo.

(21,606 posts)are doing to be effective at doing it. Just downplay Biden and Dems, give the RWers a pass. Don't attack Trump's fascist inclination because that's the same for both Trump and DeSantis, whichever one runs against Biden.

(12,400 posts)in the next presidential election. He is still working with the mindset that the media has to have a horse race in order to make a profit.
He never said a word about all the legal issues facing Trump in the next two years before the election, as if none of that matters.
He may be right but if he is, it will only be because the media will help to make it so.
I think Mathews time has passed. If anything, this election proved that no one has the stomach for that kind of negative crap anymore, other than a handful of buggy eyed Magas.

(8,685 posts)He spews lies and misinformation and the media laps it up. And the result is anger, chaos and eventually violence. The sooner he is out of the spotlight the better for all of us.

(46,757 posts)Matthews, when he had his own show, voiced opinions sided by conservative Democrats, giving the appearance that he represented the majority of the Democratic party. He even said that America was moving towards conservatism. His opinion helped form an impression that gave minorities a steep hill to climb within its own party. It would have suppressed the minority vote. Carville was also part of that mind-thinking. Not that he was conservative, but he took the easy way out, preferring that minorities keep quiet before the election so as not to scare off the white conservatives within the party.
Anyone who has been paying attention has to see the demographic shift that has occurred in the last ten years. The strategy of silencing minority voices, and pushing causes for the hard-right conservatives in the party is passe. The future is the young who are only now waking up and they are far more tolerant and progressive.
If Chris Matthews is being given air time now, even as a guest, it's probably a floater to see if he has any supporters out there to justify giving him his own show. I think it would be a huge mistake.

It's the media's endless onslaught of bothsiderist BS, false claims, smears, innuendos and outright lies about Democrats that slowly but surely harms the party and boosts the bad guys.

Seriously, people, even if you boycott their advertisers, these idiots still make bank off your cable subscription.
You're not serious about teaching them anything as long as you're supporting them, however indirectly.

(5,182 posts)MSNBC host Chris Matthews predicted in 2013 that Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.) would be the Republican Party's 2016 presidential nominee, but Paul didn't even make it to the New Hampshire primary.

(9,500 posts)The millionaires and billionaires that backed the Tea Party were funding him. Little did I realize that the racists that supported Snotty would choose TFG when given the choice between a candidate that uses dog whistles vs a candidate that uses a blow horn when bring racist. Probably didn't hurt TFG when the Russians hacked the Wisconsin GOP-run RNC - I bet there was a lot of kompromat obtained from that hack that could be used on Priebus, Walker, Ryan, and Johnson to keep them in line (or out of the way).

(86,005 posts)...Matthews is a regressive tool who pines for the days when most men in America who looked like him believed their role was to pass judgment on everyone else and proclaim themselves and their views superior in a vain attempt to covet the ground the people they'd repressed had paved for them.
The worst, in my view, is how he slobbers all over the 'greatest generation' of men, like he can't countenance recognizing anything that came afterward as positively influencing or defining of this country.
