Trump announced this early not to avoid indictments, he announced early to fund his lifestyle

I've seen a lot of pundits speculate that the reason Trump announced this early is to stave off indictments. That won't work, of course, but I think the real reason he declared so early is so he can tap into that sweet, bottomless well of campaign cash to fund his lifestyle.

As a candidate, he has more freedom to spend contributions with some clever (illegal) accounting. With his company's exposure to civil lawsuits, he's probably going to need it. It's really the best thing for him right now, financially.

5. Exactly, if it delays indictments even a day and raises $$$, Trump labels that a win win

He isn't very good at very much, but his grifting is amazing. As are the legions of people that still keep falling for that old schtick.

He probably had someone crunch the numbers, and since legally he can keep a pretty large percentage of contributions and not spend them on his campaign, he probably thought that would make up losing the RNC footing the bill. But he made it on election eve so he probably was thinking the red wave was going to happen, and he could take credit for it. That's why he was so subdued. He didn't have the victory he wanted; he's been weakened; republicans are eyeing DeSantis, etc.

i'm guessin he's pretty disappointed in the level of violence surrounding the election. sure he was hoping at least a few magats would be on his teevee, waving his flag, calling his name as they cart them away.
had to get back on the teevee, is my vote.
