This Special Counsel will protect the investigation from the efforts of Jim Jordan to undermine it.

If the D's had managed to eke out a House victory, then maybe the Special Counsel wouldn't have been necessary.

But in the face of Jim Jordan and other new Committee heads trying to interfere with the DOJ's work, naming a Special Counsel was probably the best decision.

Jim Jordan won't be able to subpoena his way into seeing the Special Counsel's work.

Here's a copy of the letter Jim Jordan has already sent, asking for (among other things) DOJ records related to the raid on Mar a lago.

As a part of this oversight, Committee Republicans have sent letters to Departmental components requesting documents and information on several issues,1 including but not limited to the Department’s targeting of journalists with Project Veritas, the shuttering of the Department’s China Initiative, the Department’s one-sided enforcement of the FACE Act, and the Department’s unprecedented raid on President Trump’s residence.

Our requests to you or your subordinates remain outstanding.

The below article is about the R's plans to investigate the DOJ when they take over.

But the report teases their desire for future investigations and includes on its fifth page a notice to FBI agents and DOJ employees that they have the right to speak with members of Congress.

“There is likely much more to be uncovered in the months ahead,” the report said.

Sure, the guy that could not pass the bar or remember sexual assault at Ohio State or could not remember how many times he talked to Trump on Jan.6

Trump is above the law and then so is everyone else. If you have power use it. We have the Power and we need and must Use it to save democracy

Each to their own. I will call it kicking the can so far down the road that now we are all above the law. Chaos and cracking us from within is the USSRs goal. Mission Accomplished.
