a few minutes ago, he was reading teleprompter and when allowed to be 'free wheeling'...he still excites his base...can I say I loathe Alex Witt. CNN is announcing (Tapper) how Biden is just like all those other presidents who let the Saudis get away with murder but God Damn Biden made a promise...nary a word about the billions paid to Jared likely for help with the killing. They have had in my opinion very little coverage on the LGBTQ nightclub shooting; I am just disgusted with all of them. They didn't even show that the suspect was arrested for making a bomb last year which another DUer was kind enough to post...going to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie.

If I want News I will read it in the major newspapers, watch local news, PBS, and Bloomberg
Tapper has been one of the worst among the CNN hosts

(13,874 posts)MSNBC is the most liberal network on TV. Do people think Rachel Maddow and Chris Hedges are secretly conservative operatives?
Go ahead and turn it off if you want; that action will have absolutely no impact on anything except that you will be confined to an increasingly closed information loop where you only see and hear things that you already know and believe.

That's why I don't have cable.
It's my money. Not yours. I decide what I'll spend it on, and it won't be on our traitor media.
We aren't in a closed loop in the modern media age. We have other options out there that really do report news in an unbiased manner.
That's what you don't get.

(5,104 posts)but he doesn't have a show on MSNBC. That's Chris Hayes.
Chris Hayes, who on Sept. 27 wrote: "I think probably the best answer is cut off weapons to Ukraine and lean on them to sue for peace now."
I can see why some might confuse the two.

(47,603 posts)is they often report the same story all day long, as if nothing else is happening in the world. Yes, I like MSNBC for the politics, but throwing in a little news now and then would be nice.
We have 24/7 cable news networks, but we are actually getting less NEWS. Lots and lots of opinions though.

(15,274 posts)Why not take the wind out of the sails of people who might do these things to make a big splash in the news?
Besides, the coverage is usually long and repetitious and a lot of guesswork and speculation until days or weeks after a tragic event.
We need to know that these things happen in general, so we know it's a problem that needs action. But I doubt the breathless hours of coverage while the same three minutes of video loops over and over again helps make things better.

(68,689 posts)and TIK Tok. Also, why has no media reported that the killer is the grandson of a MAGA election denier in San Diego who is a Republican elected official?
PatSeg
(47,603 posts)I guess they couldn't fit that into the nonstop coverage of Nancy Pelosi resigning as Speaker. Definitely an important story, but how many HOURS does it take to report it?
Demsrule86
(68,689 posts)I didn't see the story posted. I had to look on Google to see what had happened no cable news
network were saying much...I think CNN had a banner under their regular programming but that was it.

(47,603 posts)during all that. It was a story and certainly needed reporting, but not all day long for days and days! The worst I can recall was when Michael Jackson died. That was ridiculous.

(47,603 posts)is appalling. What on earth did that man do to make the world a better place? Why on earth did he deserve so much air time? He got as much coverage, if not more, as a former president when he dies. Definitely not a "great person".

(47,603 posts)to start off their show differently than the one before. I suppose it is cheaper that way, though they might as well just rerun the same program all day.
