It will not take a long time for Jack Smith to be briefed on the secret document investigation.

The possible charges are listed on the warrant and this is a smoking gun case. Trump is going to be indicted and I agree with Andrew Weissmann who said Trump will most likely be indicted within the next few months in this case.

Garland did not pick Smith to play games, take years to investigate Trumps crimes. Smith is going to move quickly.

Fuck Trump.

2. The problem with indicting Trump

under the Espionage Act and obstruction of justice for the government documents he stole has nothing to do with evidence, the evidence is there. Seditious conspiracy is much more difficult to prove and I don't really care if Trump is ever indicted for that.

If Jack Smith is not hiring his own team but is simply being the boss of the current team at DOJ, how does this make the investigations into Trump less partisan, Merrick Garland still has the final say? Are we saying that Jack Smith is less partisan than Merrick Garland? There isn't a partisan bone in Merrick Garland's body.

Are we saying that Jack Smith is more qualified than Merrick Garland to decide whether to indict Trump or not? This whole procedure of appointing a special counsel confuses me, sorry. Neal Katyal wrote the regulations for when it is proper to use a special counsel and he flat out said that the conditions do not exist for its use.

Now that we have Jack Smith in charge of recommending to Merrick Garland whether or not to indict Trump I could not be happier. If Laurence Tribe is on board that's good enough for me.

As an aside, will Trump have the recourse to challenge the appointment of the special counsel in the courts? I sure the fuck hope he doesn't have that option or we will be into 2027 for a Trump trial.

8. Federal prosecutors win 99% of their trials,

they do not bring cases that they are not confident of winning. I can understand waiting to indict on seditious conspiracy, 2 Oath Keepers already pleaded guilty which may help, but even the present case of Oath Keepers has me concerned, I do not believe it is cut and dried.

The stolen top secret documents and subsequent cover up are cut and dried cases, there should be no delays in bringing those indictments.

I have faith in a jury of Trump's peers. I am talking about time, time is the friend of Trump. Trump absolutely knows that he is guilty, all that Trump wants to do is delay everything and honestly, in that regard, Trump is winning.

If anything can be garnered from the appointment of Jack Smith it is that Trump and his criminal cohorts are afraid of Jack Smith. I will leave that statement stand alone with no further comment.

14 months until the N.H. primaries. Do you think that candidate Trump will show up to a grand jury 14 months from now? He will be on stage promoting the Big Lie.

It's illegal to take government documents, he had them at his house, there you're briefed.

9. I agree, the delays and treating Trump with kid gloves

is beyond belief to me. Plus the fact there are still confidential documents out there, somewhere. Even the notes that Trump wrote on the confidential documents is a crime. General Petraeus and Sandy Berger did far less than Trump did. Petraeus was going to run for president, it cost him that chance.

He has a reputation of being a quick study. I don’t find claims that this will delay credible at all.
