https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathie_Wood

In 1977, via her mentor Arthur Laffer, Wood got a job as an assistant economist at Capital Group, where she worked for three years. In 1980, she moved to New York City to take a job at Jennison Associates as chief economist, analyst, portfolio manager and managing director. She worked there for 18 years. In the early 1980s, she debated Henry Kaufman on why she believed interest rates had peaked.

{snip}

As of May, 2022, Wood's flagship fund, Ark Innovation, trails the S&P 500 for the trailing five years. The fund has dropped in value by more than 70% from last year's peak.

Because of Twitter troubles. Musk selling Tesla stock would dilute the value of the stock. That said Tesla still has a market cap 10 times that of either Ford or GM.

Those affect the cost of capital. Car financing and any Corp loans will be more expensive now. And Tesla stock has to compete w fixed rate stuff like bonds.

Hadn't really paid that close of attention to the stock side of the auto industry but that is crazy that Tesla is deemed to be worth 10x what Ford is worth. Despite making five times fewer cars.

I think Musk selling the stock is only one of the reasons it is going down. It would seem that the idea of pissing off your customer pool would be bad business as well.

Convenient that you neglected that profitability is half.
Of course that would require actual analysis.

The electric car divisions of Ford and GM are losing money. Other EV Car companies other than Tesla are losing money.
Of course that would require actual analysis.

As of 2:45pm EST.

I doubt if a buy low, sell high strategy is wise in this case.
