Woman convicted for storming Pelosi's office on Jan. 6

Jurors convicted Riley Williams of six charges but failed to reach a unanimous verdict on two of the central counts, including obstruction of Congress’ proceeding.

A Pennsylvania woman who joined a mob in Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office suite on Jan. 6, 2021, was convicted Monday for impeding police officers trying to defend the Capitol.

After three days of deliberation, jurors convicted Riley Williams, 22, of six charges, including participating in a civil disorder, impeding officers who tried to clear the Capitol Rotunda and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. But the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict on two of the central counts in the case: whether Williams “aided and abetted” in the theft of a laptop from Pelosi’s office that the speaker used to make Zoom calls amid the Covid pandemic, and obstruction of Congress’ Jan. 6 proceeding — a felony that carries a 20-year maximum penalty.

That she was convicted on two misdemeanor accounts or got off on the other major ones?

Or didn't read it at all?

After three days of deliberation, jurors convicted Riley Williams, 23, of six charges, including two felonies: participating in a civil disorder and impeding officers who tried to clear the Capitol Rotunda. But the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict on two of the central charges in the case: whether Williams “aided and abetted” in the theft of a laptop from Pelosi’s office that the speaker used to make Zoom calls amid the Covid pandemic, and obstruction of Congress’ Jan. 6 proceeding — a felony that carries a 20-year maximum penalty.

Prosecutors must now decide whether to retry Williams on the two unresolved charges. Her sentence will be issued in February.

U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson ordered Williams immediately remanded to federal prison, agreeing with prosecutors that she presents a flight risk if released while awaiting sentencing. Williams was “packed and ready to flee” after Jan. 6, Jackson noted, and had a sophisticated understanding about how to cover her tracks. Her actions toward police on Jan. 6, Jackson said, eroded any confidence the judge had in Williams’ ability to obey court orders while released. Prosecutors noted that Williams faces a multi-year sentence, likely to be enhanced by her efforts to delete messages and cover up her conduct.

She hasn't been sentenced yet, was convicted on six counts with two of them being felonies, was immediately remanded to federal prison and is facing a multi-year sentence. Whether the prosecution decides to retry the other two felonies remains to be seen. But for now, I join you in applauding the current convictions.

This was a win for the government. If the sentence is not satisfactory, the government can retry the charges which resulted in a mistrial. Maybe not all for which the government hoped but a win.

Pelosi Laptop Thief's Dad Busted On Child Porn Charges In Undercover Sting

The father of a Pennsylvania woman who stole Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's laptop was busted on child porn charges after asking an undercover detective posing as a teenage girl online to film herself using the bathroom, news reports say.

Rickey Williams, 55, -- a security guard from Dauphin County -- was communicating with the detective under the belief he was a girl on the Snapchat app, Fox43 says citing the criminal complaint.

During the course of this alleged communication, Williams, of Steelton, requested a video of the girl using the bathroom, Local21news reports.

Rickey Williams is the father of Riley Williams, the 22-year-old woman who stole Nancy Pelosi's laptop from the US Capitol during the Jan. 6 riots, according to abc27.

This woman deserves to spend decades in prison, hope she gets close to the 20 year maximum.

But, it wouldn't surprise me if she is. If so, may she have the book thrown at her. Thanks for the reminder that one of the MAGAts DID try to do that.
