They are mad we gave subsidies to US electric car manufacturers and are "threatening" to do the same with EU manufacturers. I say great- they should absolutely do that. But if they can't afford to give those subsidies, they shouldn't blame US for doing so. We shouldn't not spend money to fight climate change just because other nations have a harder time doing so.

1. the real issue is taking the US to the WTO for unfair trade subsidies. If the WTO rules in the

EU's favor then tariffs will be allowed against US products negating the climate benefits from the IRA (or at least making them way more expensive for the USA consumers)
