Amarillo is where I live and it's been a pot of shit lately due to this coming here for the 8th year in a row. For 7 years no one said anything about it...until now thanks to the GOP culture wars shit.

So my friend asked me if I wanted to go since her friend bailed in her. So of course I said yeah cuz I don't have a ton of money atm. I'm gonna pay her back with making her baked goods.

Anyway as we are walking to the entrance. Protesters...fucking goddamn it. All shouting and shit. But there were more counter protesters with pride flags. So it was relieving to see that. But still I was furious.

I walked by these people and I couldn't help myself. I tried but I couldn't contain my anger. I yelled trans lives matter motherfuckers. God knows I just wanted to punch the asshole with the megaphone. But whatever. I'm sure I ruffled one or two with that.

LEAVE US ALONE! Oh and go fuck yourselves you self righteous bigots with a cactus.

BUT THE SHOW WAS AMAZING!!! Them queens slayed it!

6. My sympathies

I generally think I am in one of the most conservative areas in Texas, but then I remember my visits to Amarillo an realize that it can get a lot worse. Amarillo is one of the place where carrying a book, pretty much any book, can get people suspicious of what sort of dangerous activities you might be up to. Odd since the home of a major book selling chain was one of the places I visited when I was last in Amarillo.

7. I go to drag shows in Denver

at least twice a year, more if I can. So much fun. Never any protesters thank goodness. I honestly believe the hatred is a form of mental illness.

if they ever realize how many straight people those shows draw. A lot of us enjoy cabaret, the campier the better, combined with some fantastic artistry in creating the illusion.

I've been hearing people muttering lately that they fucking hate Christians. That's all that asshole with the bullhorn accomplished. It's pretty sad, too, being Christian used to be non controversial, although there were always a few unpleasant jerks bucking for sainthood.
