Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold (D) ordered a mandatory recount in the states third district on Wednesday after a razor-thin midterm election race between incumbent Rep. Lauren Boebert (R) and her challenger Adam Frisch (D).
The secretarys office officially announced the recount, required because the vote differential between Boebert and Frisch is within 0.5 percent of the leading incumbents total portion of votes, this week amid large-scale expectations that it would occur.
Colorado law calls for a recount whenever the differential is within that small margin of the winners total vote.
Boebert won last months midterm election with 50.08 percent of the vote to Frischs 49.92 percent, with the Democrat conceding the race.

(296,866 posts)awhile ago.. I guess it's just official now.
Adam Frisch has already Conceded.. he said he thought there wasn't a chance to find enough votes foe him
But, by some miracle.. I've read it doesn't matter if he conceded or not..
So damn Close!

(2,710 posts)Sadly, the reality of campaigning for office means most losing candidates are left with significant debt and cannot afford to run again. They have to consider things like their kids' ability to go to college and their family's ability to weather retirement.
We ought to figure out a way to help them retire campaign-related debt and consider a way to give them a bit of a war chest to encourage them to run again.

(296,866 posts)so much deft.
I read that Adam Frisch bankrolled his own campaign with $2 Million. He hasn't decided if he'll run again..
Is Adam Frisch running against Lauren Boebert in 2024? Here's what we know

(52,152 posts)vs a bunch of random errors, 550 is too many votes for a recount to overcome. Think of this as counting a million pennies 1000 at a time. It is perfectly reasonable to think the individual counts of 1000 could be off by a penny or even two but those random errors would be in both directions and serve to cancel each other out. Thus the 1000000 pennies would be very unlikely to be off by 1000 even if every individual count was off by 1.

(1,263 posts)that the lead might not change by even a single vote.
But one can always hope for something to be found that upsets the current lead considerably.
