Congratulations America you came through, not just for your country but for the rest of the world.
This is an election where between the Koch brothers and Adelson plus a few lesser billionaires pumped $5.8 Billion of personal wealth into buying the US government.
This money could have gone to paying fair taxes on corporate wealth to rebuild infrastructure and create solid middle class jobs. Instead they devoted themselves to defeating the first African American president simply because he was the first African American president.
The Koch's and Adelson's failed but they will not give up so the next four years will require diligence and even more intensified activism on the part progressive Americans.
As a Canadian looking over the fence my wife and I breathed a sigh of relief tonight. America and the world dodged a bullet this time. Next time we may not be so lucky.
The Mega Wealthy RW will recalibrate and rely less on the Teabagger/Evangelical proletariat next time. They will take another tack probably by deliberately destroying the possibility of a middle class recovery in time for 2016.
Whatever the new course the Mega wealthy take they will come back with a VENGEANCE so American progressives must anticipate and begin preparing starting Jan 2013.
On the bright side I and the missus are basking in your success. Victory proved especially sweet when I went to the FR live election thread and marked the moment when it was all over for them. Allow me to share.
