Unfortunately almost 1.5 million people in TN voted Romney. But like the rest of the country we are not all alike. Thanks to the millions of southern dems who showed up and voted, even if they did not carry their state.

(10,942 posts)Hispanics and Asians. I don't understand the south's voting record. In some states, Blacks make up 30% or more of registered voters, yet all I see is big win margins for republicans that spout obscene shit. The groups that can elect better politicians don't seem to be working together.

(382 posts)Even though I know that there's no hope of Tennessee going to a Democratic presidential candidate, I always vote.
Maybe, if we can ween the crazies off Fox and talk radio, a Democrat will again have a chance here. I'm not optimistic in the near term.

(153 posts)That million voters in Tennessee for Obama made a very big chunk of the plurality in national popular vote - and that matters to everyone.
So all of you red state Dems have much to be proud of - your contributions are important.
