Actions (karmas) have results, (karma-phala) the fallout or fruit of action.
The results may be seen or unseen, expected or surprising, wanted or WTF.
However, no one is immune to having an apple fall on their head.

This story is a great parable of how even our inconsequential, routine actions like eating can have results quite other than a full stomach. He was hungry; he ordered pizza. The pizza satisfied his hunger as expected.

Unexpectedly the pizza got him arrested.
