Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsMay I propose a small round of congratulations to the DU community?
Although I am not one of the more vocal members, I check DU every day and the things I have learned on here have gone beyond my individual membership. I would learn about an issue and then speak to my aunt or mother about that issue, and then they would speak with their friends, and little by little we would all learn together. The things I learn on here transcend me: they are communicated to countless others.
Thank you for your humor and your wisdom, but most of all your humor. The wisdom made me smart, the humor made me sane.

(7,820 posts)I've been on DU for years- mostly a lurker but far more active the last few months. This really is a great community.

(11,833 posts)I read here far more than post. I enjoy the humor and intelligence of most posters. While we often disagree on matters small, we agree on most of the big things. I've learned a lot, felt less lonely, and felt more confident about expressing my views offline in a friendly and disciplined manner. I credit all of DU with that, and for that I'm forever grateful.
