Connie Mack, who was easily dispatched last night by Sen. Bill Nelson, has another kick in the pants this morning. It appears his wife, California Rep. Mary Bono Mack lost her re-election battle.
"One of the most contentious elections the desert has ever witnessed saw (Raul) Ruiz take a less than one percentage point lead over incumbent Rep. Mary Bono Mack in the 36th Congressional District with nearly 40 percent of the unofficial results counted," writes the local paper. "But Bono Mack early this morning said based on historic voting trends, she expected Ruiz to prevail."

(12,754 posts)Mary Whitaker Bono Baxley Mack was born on the bench and married the third baseman -- three times.
The local paper is keeping up the false equivalency that they both ran a bitter campaign.
Raul Ruiz -- a real sweetheart of a guy - criticized her record, which is a dismal record. She ran nothing but slanderous, vile distortions of his character. She ran the most disgusting campaign I have ever seen.
The local paper claims they were both doing the same thing.
Don't worry, though, Mary will be OK. She still has all the income from Sonny's royalties, plus whatever she inherited from him, plus her husband's millions, plus her generous pension from Congress, plus her lifetime health care. I don't think she'll be standing in any employment line any time soon.
