Obama's Brilliance : "I Will Reach Out To Mitt Romney To See How We Can Work Together"

Jesus, Obama is one smart motherf**ker!

This is an end run around Boehner and McConnell. Obama is identifying Rmoney as a LEADER of the Republic Party. He is setting up Mitt as a Repub leader that he can talk to and possibly work with.

Imagine Obama calling a bipartisan meeting that kicks the Congressional R leadership to the curb, inviting Rmoney and Chris Christie to represent the Rs instead. Rmoney LOST to Obama and Christie got rescued by him. He's in the driver's seat because he's talking to Rs whose power base is outside of the DC bubble.

Could be 11th-dimensional chess.

If it was simply a matter of being gracious, that has its value. But one can certainly imagine it taking on something larger.

Who would have thought that Obama and Hillary could work so well together, and that Bill would play such a key role in the election?

Romney is no longer a rival. And why does he need any more money? He can afford to spend some time in Washington being a statesman if that is what is needed. Obama could certainly enlist Romney to help advocate for getting the ACA fully rolled out. There is no longer any need for Romney to be defensive about it. If he is looking for a legacy, he already has done a great thing in MA. Why not be a key player in the success of RomneyCare rolled out nationally? Seriously is there anybody here who DOESN'T think Obama could sell Mitt on that idea at this stage.

And I do think there is some merit to Obama having a number of highly visible bipartisan relationships, and putting Boehner and McConnell in the deep freeze fro a little while. Obviously there can be plenty of opportunity with Bloomberg and Christie. If Obama can get enough of that going, he can then turn to McConnell and Boehner and say (in effect), "Isn't it interesting that we are able to work across party lines everywhere except with you two holdouts.?"

Maybe there is a similar thing with Huntsman or Pawlenty. Or maybe Arnold would serve as some kind of Liaison Emeritus to the governors.

I don't think there is a play to push Romney directly into the House's business.

Yes, honoring their Failed Leader. Romney/R's can't win no matter what they respond.

I'd kinda like to know myself how to invest a huge chunk of my income behind a charity while simultaneously taking a tax deduction and reaping tax exempt capital gains from said investment. Maybe someday I'll be able to afford my own car elevator if I can play by those rules.

rMoney doesn't give a shit about this country. And Queen Ann won't let him talk to the "black guy" anyway.

That's what I've always loved about him.... he stood tall no matter what they threw at him. If he decides he can put Rmoneyto work and help the middle class, that's great. Just don't give him any real power. Maybe Mittens could pass out mittens down the shore.

They didn't like him in the first place. How many of them voted for him vs voted against Obama? Very, very few, I suspect.

He's not the head of the party; he was just their only option for getting rid of Obama. I don't think that it would influence anybody other than maybe a few Mormons if Romney started working with Obama--in fact, it would do the opposite. He failed. He stinks in their nostrils. He won't appear at the next convention. And almost nobody in the GOP will be sad to see him go away.

1) I don't think Romney would take the call.

2) Romney was only interested in being President, not leading or governing. This isn't his thing.
