Yes, "incredible" programs that really help people in more ways than most people realize. Do you know?
Not only "help" but also "saved many lives. (millions of lives)

I don't know why Republicans are such pricks, but they are. And as such, they are the enemies of all working class and poor people.

My right wing dad even said their bullshit hadn't changed during his lifetime and he was born in 1916. He warned me more than once not to listen to a word they said on the subject. He liked the illusion of tax cuts but he had no use for the lies and false piety.
I applauded the 2008 crash when it came (even though it knocked my inherited net worth down) because it shut the oily and mendacious Ken Mehlman up totally and seemingly in perpetuity.

No wonder Republicans keep wanting to cut it all back. They believe government is there either to help you get rich or get out of your way while you help yourself. Helping others in need? Nah - not so much.
No wonder Republicans and others of the right/far right embrace religion. Because they believe its their God-given right to chase after or otherwise accumulate wealth. And its the actual wealth that they worship. God is just the vehicle (and the cover story). Works for the televangelists all the time.

No matter how it has shrunk you can't drown the Federal Gov't until you take those two programs away.
