1. I met him years ago, back when he was a congressman.

I have to say that he is one of the sharpest people I have ever met in my life. He has a brilliant, analytical mind and he is a long-view thinker. He's also very personable in a low-key way, or at least he was. I never got a "Do you know who **I** am?" vibe from the guy. I also feel that he is a genuine patriot, he believes in public service.

Obviously, he left a very positive impression on me.
