Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsRepublicans will change their presentation - they will not change what they believe.
They will only put more effort into deceiving low-info, naive voters that call themselves conservatives and listen religiously to talk radio and FOX News.
They will change how they present their views about rape and women's rights in general. But they will not change what they believe. It will be like an Earl Schieb paint job. They will still have the same old rusty body underneath.
They will do the same with immigration. They will recruit more Latinos to run for Republican seats. They will stop using the words "illegal aliens". They will become a softer, gentler, more compassionate conservatism in their presentation to the public.
But, in their hearts, they will be the same lying, deceptive. hot-air spewing assholes they have always been...

(12,233 posts)they will not change the people with power at the top will not change their demands for self-preservation. The wealthy, elite who own so much wealth and are immune from regular justice are wholly affraid of people coming together to tell them they are full of it, and their pieces of paper or 0's behind a $ amount in their bank accounts do not mean they are some how special or more entitled to a better more privileged life.
As we can all see, the Tea Party Astro-Turfing was covered ad-nauseum by the corporate media... And their message was that the blame for the ruin of the nation and everyone's difficult times was due to ineffective govt, poor people "living high off their tax money" (like poor people are living the lap of luxury, while their lives are crumbling around them due to the wealthy assholes gambling away on Wall St like it was Vegas), and that it was all Obama's fault along with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and liberals, in general... This diverted the attention away from the bankers and Wall St getting huge sums of "socialized" protection from the tax payers, while still giving themselves their "contracted" bonuses.
Occupy scares the crap out of them because they point out that the system is rigged and that while Wall St CEO's walked away with millions in their contracts, somehow teachers and police and firefighters in Uniond Contracts were living the good life and were making too much money off of tax payer money. And of course, private testing mandates and Charter schools perversion of taking tax payer money away from public schools has become a new racketeering scheme.
Everything lies. Corporate media right there in the middle of it all to protect the wealthy who own the news. The fact that they couldn't buy the election and I believe their voting machines were protected from hacking the vote, despite their money.

(776 posts)They are guilty of brazen overreach. They convinced themselves that everyone was loving their message, so they stopped cloaking it in stealth. They felt surrounded by kindred spirits and came out of the closet. They have only learned one thing by this shellacking: time to be stealthy again. Time for the good ole compassionate conservatism bullshit. Time to start faking it that they are real human beings instead of cold, heartless, soulless ghouls.

(7,633 posts)Medicare vouchers were replaced by Medicare "premium support" in this election cycle. The soon-to-depart Allen West was also trying out "defined contribution" as yet another euphemism for vouchers during his unsuccessful re-election campaign.
Trickle down economics was replaced by "job creators."
