Republican insanity might just destroy the world's financial infrastructure

Next month, it's up to congress to raise America's debt limit. If it's not done, it means we cannot borrow any money to pay the countries which hold our debt. In short, this would destabilize the world's economy. It would also affect government payments to veterans, Social Security and Medicare.

Republicans refuse to vote to raise the debt ceiling unless the Democrats agree to deep cuts in America's budget. And there's no way to make those cuts without slashing veteran's benefits, Social Security and Medicare. -- This is their plan for cutting those programs and avoid taking the blame for it.

Republicans have used this threat in the past, but compromises were always reached. This time around, it's different. The Republican Party has gone bug shit insane -- think Marjory Taylor Greene. Many of them are as stupid as she is and don't really understand what would happen if we default on our debt.

Their ultimate goal, of course, is to blame it on the Dems and make sure Joe Biden can't get reelected. They are clueless to the fact that defaulting on our debt would throw the world's economy into total chaos. What happens as a result of that is anyone's guess.

9. Actually, there's a clause in the 14th Amendment that seemingly allows

Joe Biden to raise the debt ceiling on his own. But he has said he won't use it.

My guess is that he'll change his mind rather than sit there and watch a total disaster take place.
