(13,682 posts)more than just me considering if I even want to be in crowds unnecessarily. It has to be showing up already. How many people aren't travelling to this country because of all the shootings?

(2,884 posts)of immigrant bigotry. I'm just not going to research which they are at the moment.
I will say I have modified my behavior to keep from being out in the public. You couldn't get me to go to a shopping mall for anything these days. I didn't particularly like them when they weren't so dangerous. Today? No way.
I also, to be sadness, haven't been to a concert or a play in decades. Some of that, tho, is C19 and who knows what other viruses that might be floating around... not just gun violence. Although that IS a huge part of the reason.
Really, any place that might host a medium to large crowd, I try to stay away from. When it comes to shopping, online has been a blessing for me... especially the liberal return policies. And no need to fear guns as I buy something.

(4,741 posts)They have two ways to order delivery--one that goes through the typical post deliveries (USPS or the like) for general stuff, like jeans or refrigerators (lol).
Then they have another for perishables, tin foods and a few key necessity-type items that are actually in your nearest store. They call this local service, "Same-Day Delivery." Instacart does the actual deliveries in my area. Yours might be different.
I use both types of deliveries often, because Costco has things that nobody else does or not at a price they do. Plus, buying online means no impulse buying of "ooh! shiny!" rubbish that I don't need, always a danger at Costco. Finances always made me a less impulsive shopper than most, but even I could fall for a great bargain of an item that wasn't friendly to my budget, if I weren't on my guard for some reason.

(3,088 posts)It's always very crowded on weekends, and there are a disproportionate number of international shoppers at this location. Allen is located in cherry-red Collin County.

(36,748 posts)Lax gun laws equal mass shootings.
Its not going to stop until some form of ammunition or gun control is enacted.
