I have a question for the board...

How can anyone be “undecided“? The disparity between the two parties, the two candidates, the two schools of thought, the two philosophies of existence could not be greater. I understand in an intellectual sense why the people exist on the other side, but I cannot imagine how you can be in the middle somewhere. And yes, I know that people have certain issues, and other people have certain other issues, but come on.

“they just don't pay enough attention and won't admit that so they say they're undecided.” This is the best sentence I’ve read. Probably mentally defective also

They are making great strides in getting their people at the top of the Seven Mountains of Power in society. Supreme Court, governors, etc.

They don't care what methods are used, or the character of the people who open the door for them. They have one single goal and that is to take over those mountains, no matter how ugly the fight, or how many collateral damages they cause.

They are making particular efforts in Pennsylvania right now. The following Twitter feed is tracking those efforts very closely. Worth a follow...

Don’t you know anyone that wants taxes to be lower and likes guns but also thinks pot should be legal, is down with LGBTQ and supports the right to choose? There is a decision to be made in terms of what you value more in that situation. The media wants us to think all Democrats have the same set of beliefs and all Republicans have the same set of beliefs but it’s just not like that.

Not everyone's political views fit nicely into one of the two major party's platforms.

We're all more or less fully inline with the Dem platform here, obviously. But not all Democratic voters in every election are in the same boat.

9. The disparity is not always obvious from my observation.

In my conversations with people who agree about many of the issues and problems facing us as a whole, I have run into some form of bothsideism. It’s happened on the “internets” too.

To be fair, there are lots of people who know exactly what’s going on and who is responsible i.e. “the disparity“. But there are a lot of people who know something is wrong and don’t know or understand who’s responsible for it.

It would behoove us to clarify and call out Republicans by name as often as possible, for their miss deeds, in my opinion. The far reaching news fails to do this and it’s misleading.

Back in the 90’s there was a survey/report that a large number of Americans thought Entertainment Tonight was the news. Like 10-20%

I hear most uniformed say this or something like it. "I can't be bothered with it all" sort of thing because all they see on the teevee is bickering and bullshit and they want o part of it.

For some, freedom means they don't have to get involved in politics or pay attention to it. Maybe they vote.

Piggybacking on the idea of an earlier member's post of Christian dominionism,
Most parents really do love their children. And at least in the south, if your parents were devout, they start indoctrinating you way before you're able to think for yourself.

So even if you develop critical thinking skills as an adult, those crazy indoctrinations that were put into you when you were just a child still have an enormous tug. Why are so many women members of the southern baptist when they don't allow women to be leaders? It's the same thing.

It's also the reason for the assault on Common Core in education. Common core emphasizes critical thinking skills.

It covers a wide spectrum of left and right but fits comfortably in neither. In many ways I identify more that way than I would on either the left or right in the US.

and between Donald J Trump and HRC in particular, and then decide they'd sabotage our party?

People are sometimes strange.

Populist rage rarely leads to excellent critical thinking.

For those swing voters who are persuadable, Trump did himself no favors last night. His bullshit is a massive turnoff, even to traditional conservatives.

Biden will benefit. This election is critical.

person of one of the three women, front row, far right. She could not
answer any question and appeared very uncomfortable when asked for a reaction. The reason for her discomfort lay in the moderator's presentation of his questions, which was EXCELLENT!!! He always provided a factual context. For example, "Trump has been proven to lie about anything and everything. What do you think about his maintaining his innocence with regard to the sexual assault verdict?" (Not an exact quote.) With every question, this lady's face displayed chagrin at being forced to confront her political choice of supporting a liar in order to support Trump. You could see her reevaluating her position. At the end, I said to myself, she's not really a Trump voter.

Unfortunately for Truth, but fortunately for the panel, the moderator gave them an out when it came to his 2020 Big Lie. Instead of prefacing this question with the number of failed lawsuits, the lawyers who are being investigated, etc., he plunged in with "Is it time to move on to the 2024 election. Of course, they all thought it was time to move on rather than confront his Lie. He also asked them if he really believed the Lie and they decided he did or it was his opinion. The moderator should have brought up Trump's admission in the White House that he knew he'd lied, but it was too embarrassing to admit it and the two investigations he paid for which showed no election fraud.

So, the undecided voter is not yet exposed to Trump's lies and forced to admit they're supporting a liar.
