Boy, NC Gov Cooper is hitting it out of the ballpark.

Speech to veto the super majority Republican Congress' bill to stop all abortions.

He hit all the hot buttons. If you really care about children, why not improve neonatal care and lower infant death rates; if you really care about mothers, why not invest in childcare.

That doesn't even scratch the surface of all the things he said.

With the ire of the people, Republicans in the NC Legislature WILL have to listen to the people who DO NOT want this ban.

But will they?

He's also smart to rile the ire of the people to vote Repubs out of the legislature in 2024.

He's taking rethug politics head on. The only way to beat them.

Forcing us to endure the discomfort of an unwanted pregnancy ending in extremely painful childbirth is a way to CONTROL WOMEN and that's the only thing they want. They don't care about us as anything but their last slaves. They hate children and they hate where they come from.

Don't get confused about any of this.

I wish NC would follow the lead of Michigan and flip that legislature! I really love the geography of the state and considered retiring there, but it seemed to me that the state wasn't progressing enough and now is regressing. The Democrats in that state need to get out the vote for all elections. At the very least, make it a purple state.

The abortion issue is basically about basic civil rights in this country. Does a woman have the same basic civil rights as a man? yes or no. Anti abortionists seem to think they don't. Are full civil rights gender specific or are they for all people?
No one should be in charge of anyone else's body. Period.
This should be stated constantly by politicians!
