"I had in mind the way CNN's fake town hall gave Trump a platform to praise the insurrectionists as 'great people'; to pledge that he would pardon 'a large portion' of them who are serving time; and to make clear that he fully intended the violent attack on the Capitol and on Mike Pence that his remarks incited, refusing to express regret even for having endangered his vice president's very life," Tribe told Newsweek via email Friday.

His psychological tendencies would not allow him to disappoint that audience which in turn would serve to expose his intent as the seditionist traitor that he is.

Maybe the top brass at GOP headquarters wants him gone.

Either that or unintended consequences.

Then there's ...Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.

While I opposed putting him on -- especially in that setting -- I think the defendent inflicted serious wounds upon himself.

And has anyone confirmed whether Jack Smith even knows about the town hall? I assume prosecutors work around the clock and don't really have time for TV. Maybe one of the underlings watched. I guess we'll see.

For example, he has said he "Had the right to take the documents" for months now and people have been saying he incriminated himself. I remember him specifically saying this to Hannity and Hannity trying to give him an out and the dumb ass was too stupid to take Hannity's cue. So is there anything new I'm missing?

Deny deny deny deny. Slowly start confessing to different parts of the crime. Then a full-blown confession followed by a statement about how it was not a crime and how he had the right to do it. Then crickets. Nothing happens. Rinse repeat.

I've made similar comments to this at least five times, maybe more. It's actually kind of boring now.

One thing's for sure, the chaos we endured during trump's reign of terror really took a toll on our long-term memories.
