1. I recall Michael in an interview a few years ago

where he was discussing Columbine and the documentary he made. He said that looking back he would have added more to that documentary. He said that one of the main reasons Americans love guns is due to an unrealistic fear of too much violence in the US. The local news stations and "reality" police shows like "Cops" makes people think there is a ton more danger for the average American and it contributes to more people buying guns. The media is definitely to blame for falsely reporting and exaggerating real danger (at least from the early 80s on). Over 30 years of non-stop reports of violent crimes definitely contributes to the increase in gun sales.
