(492 posts)Why do people insist on adding an "s" to Aldi? Some letters are silent and apparantly some are invisible.

(82,849 posts)It was the fall of the republic, eggs retailing for four or five dollars. And since they're such a staple of everyone's diet, we all suffered. Suffered, I tell you!
Now egg prices are back to a more customary price, and the national media have forgotten all about this vital issue, an indicator and benchmark of our nation's health and prosperity.

(57,668 posts)... but the stuff we normal people eat - country style ribs, most pork cuts, beef roasts, chicken, fish - have been coming down at the town HEB. Prepared foods are still high, but since the pandemic we've been baking and scratch cooking and we've kept our groceries pretty close to what they were pre-pandemic.
We've cut restaurants eating to maybe a 10th of what it was and we're eating better than ever.

Supply and demand still works and prices reflect the drop in demand for eggs.
Very few people were buying the gouged price eggs.

I just came from the store too, not Aldi, but not a pricey one either. Nothing has gone down where I am.
Lucky you.
