(82,849 posts)I wonder why the superintendent is so publicity-shy about what he's* doing?
*Assuming his pronouns are he/him.

(23,905 posts)This comes after Ryan Walters' chief advisor sent a threatening email to OSDE staffers, calling it a "final warning" to employees who disagree with Walters' beliefs.
Employment attorney Mark Hammons says this "absolutely" qualifies as grounds for a lawsuit.
"One of those [OSDE] employees comes to me, I've got the smoking gun about motivation on that," Hammons said. "That is such a stupid thing."

(36,512 posts)-snip-
The OSDE employee who shared the email with News 4 this morning asked that their name not be revealed.
However, Langston alluded on social media the emails served as a trap.
He referenced an article about the Tesla CEO, Elon Musk sending similar emails that were encoded with either one or two spaces between sentences, forming a binary signature that identified the leaker.

(111,482 posts)and Musk has been caught doing that before. Besides, Langston aint that important.
If the leaker is identified, probably by some right winger working for News 4, s/he can be proud, saying that email could have been copied from some overreaching government flunky in Moscow or Pyongyang.

(43,576 posts)at least it wouldn't rely on "beliefs to fight the liberal woke culture".

(7,944 posts)A private corporation might institute such a clause. For one which serves the public and paid by public money, not unless there were compelling specific reasons. The claims of Walters, and others, regarding liberal woke culture, indoctrination, and pornography leave them open to lawsuit and provide no reasonable basis for such demands of non-disclosure and policy. Someone fired over this will have quite broad grounds for swift Federal legal action. This is like the COVID conspiracy crap as it has no basis in reality at all.
It is fascism pure and simple. He might as well demand that all employees of SDE must belong to and vote for Republican party dogma. It is in effect the same assertion.

(21,729 posts)Nothing like spewing a bunch of politically charged hate filled nonsense and then saying employees have to adhere to the highest level of ethical standards. Only thing that statement was missing was this guys head spinning 360 degrees like The Exorcist.
