Did Petraeus mistress reveal classified details in speech?

Paula Broadwell, the biographer revealed as the woman having a secret affair with the now-former CIA director, gave a talk at the University of Denver on Oct. 26 in which she appeared to reveal sensitive, maybe even classified, information about the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

The most interesting revelation is her claim that the CIA was holding two Libyan militia members prisoner, which may have prompted the attack. (Though she also sought to explain the Obama administration's initial view that the attack was linked to the YouTube video Innocence of Muslims, an anti-Islam polemic that sparked riots across the Muslim world.)

She also said flatly that forces at the CIA annex had requested backup from a special Delta Force group she called the CINC's in extremis force. It was not clear whether she was basing her comments on an Oct. 26 Fox News report by Jennifer Griffin, or whether her information came from elsewhere. (Griffin refers to it as "Commanders [sic] in Extremis Force," but does not mention Delta Force or any Libyan prisoners.)

A CIA spokeswoman disputed the Fox News account at the time, saying, "no one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate."

In her prepared remarks, Broadwell, who attended the university's Josef Korbel School of International Studies, spoke at length of her career ambitions. "My longterm goal had always been to become national security advisor," she said.

From the speech: "so the most recent news that came out was a Fox News report by Jennifer Griffin. I got it on a distribution list I'm on, and it has some pretty insightful stuff in it, if you want to look for it."

Paula was the original source (leak) to Jennifer at Fox News. Jennifer didn't get the story 100% correct as Paula told it to her so Paula decided to correct the "narrative". A narrative that I believe Paula wrote.

So the "leaked" info may be accurate or could just be CIA spin or it could be Paula's creation in a misguided attempt to protect her boyfriend and the CIA.

Paula may have revealed classified info but if it is incorrect info it is not treason. The only way to know if she has committed treason is to know if she has been reading the director's classified communications. Or she could still be engaged in pillow talk with the general. One of P's spokesman said on tv today that the relationship ended 4 months ago. This makes we think that may not be true.

I believe Paula is a security risk because she is an outsider who was allowed to function as an insider. She may be spying on the CIA. She clearly thinks she can help her boyfriend. Her ego is the size of Africa. She is really dangerous. I think she is a sociopath.

Edit: She may have a second boyfriend at the CIA.

I think both of them have egos larger than Mitt and Ann. That is beyond belief. I assume we are soon going to have some revealing books with multiple sourcing from former officers who served with him and hate his guts. Fucking hypocrite.

Petraeus-gate: It's Not About the Affair, But Leaking of the Highest Order+*

by Jesselyn Radack Follow

The bombshell resignation yesterday of David Petraeus--director of the CIA, one of the most decorated four-star generals, and one of our country's most prominent military strategists--is making headlines due to his affair (the reason he gave for his resignation) with his biographer, Paula Broadwell.

But the real story is the FBI investigation that ensnared the two. The FBI does not investigate extramarital affairs, and the President does not normally express his disappointment over such things. The FBI investigation into a "potential criminal matter"--specifically, whether a computer Petraeus used had been compromised and other security concerns--lies at the heart of what is so insidious about this situation.

I represent a number of whistleblowers, including Thomas Drake and John Kiriakou, who have faced decades in jail under the Espionage Act for "leaking" supposedly-classified information. (Petraeus just praised Kiriakou's conviction because "secrecy oaths matter.&quot Now we have the CIA director apparently leaking classified information of the highest order to his biographer and mistress, who does not have a security clearance.

Her post today (Sunday) at the same link follows up on this.

It seems a lot of people are compromised at the CIA, the FBI, and Republican members in the House. We will never get the facts.

Last week on Hannity, Bob Woodward said Romney's people came to him about a big scandal dealing with Benghazi they wanted him to dig into, but he turned it down.

They were not directly involved so he thought it was general gossip.

I think these are two different story lines but both involve Director P.

Petraeus is called P4. If he marries Paula will they call him P5 or PU ?

War crimes and war profiteering are not trivial.

Our politics and media are putrid snot but I am glad to have voted straight Democratic since McGovern (when first legal).

I even voted again for DiFI (husband Richard Blum) after stating at DU I could not in good conscious vote for her again.

My votes all "won" except GMO food labeling in California.

Look how even DiFi was left out of the loop on this mess. Cantor!!??? Morelll!!??

Waking up at DU is not a solution.

Seriously I do not know a solution. My life is essentially over because of age, health, and finances. I am glad I do not have biologic children and have been better to step children than biologic parents.

I have spent the last 30+ (Reagan on) years in a society indoctrinated by post-Reagan policy and politics that have degraded everything perceived about life prior to 1980.

The election is over is over. We won. Let us do better please.
